Teacher education in schools
Teacher education in schools is an essential component of Tabor Adelaide’s pre-service Education courses. Tabor Adelaide works with the South Australian universities in the allocation of student practicum placements. Student Teachers have field experience in schools from the first semester of their courses. They progress from observers to teachers in charge of classes for increasing periods of time. The in-school educational component of their courses takes place under the close supervision of a Teaching Mentor, a School Supervisor and a Tabor Teacher Educator. Details are given in the Practicum Participant Handbooks which are provided for Student Teachers.
Induction
A close relationship between Tabor Adelaide and support schools benefits Student Teachers not only during their initial teacher education, but also in relation to employment and induction. Many Christian schools are committed to being an integral part of the education of the Tabor Adelaide’s pre-service teachers and to providing employment for graduates of its programs.
