Performing Arts
Welcome to the Performing Arts Faculty
The Performing Arts Department at Tabor Adelaide aims to develop artists who hold in creative tension: their Christian faith; a rigorous investigation of and training in performing arts’ theory, history and practice; a critical, holistic and reflective engagement with culture; along with a commitment to finding expression for newly developed artistic skills through education, performance and ministry.
Apart from their major study area in Music, Dance or Drama students will have the opportunity to hone their skills as performers, leaders and teachers in the following ways:
- Develop skills across disciplines through our interdisciplinary theatre program.
- Participate in regular performance opportunities through our showcase programs and subject specific major performance events.
- Gain experience in technical theatre through specific units and opportunities to take on backstage roles.
- Contribute to community performance programs in schools, festivals, contracted performance opportunities and churches locally and when on tour.
- And for our BA/Bed students - engage in school placements for practicum experiences in conjunction with our education department.
