In 2005, Tabor Adelaide was in the first batch of private providers to be granted Commonwealth Higher Education Provider status. This means that eligible higher education students at Tabor Adelaide can now access FEE-HELP tuition loans to cover the cost of their studies at Tabor.

Tabor allocates NPPs to students on a merit basis and normally to first-year students. Students in NPPs have access to the Government's HECS-HELP scheme.

Brief information about the FEE-HELP and HECS-HELP systems is provided in Tabor Adelaide HELP Loan Information. The Department of Education, Science and Training has developed a website that provides further details about HELP loans and many other higher education matters:  www.goingtouni.gov.au Hard copy information is available from the Tabor Adelaide Registry on request.

HELP loans offer some significant benefits, for example:

  • Students who use the HELP system do not need to pay any tuition fees up-front.
  • Students may pay a proportion of their fees up-front and cover the remainder with a HELP loan.
  • HELP loans prevent students or potential students from being excluded because they cannot afford to pay their tuition fees.
  • Students accessing HELP loans do not need to work at the same time as they are studying in order to be able to pay their fees.
  • HELP loans make the process of gaining a reputable qualification, with all the related employment benefits, easier for many students to attain.
